The Program
Due to the increasing wait time for a referral from China, FCF has put a temporary HOLD on taking new applications for this program.
China is a wonderful country to adopt from, and the fees are lower than most international adoptions. Many thousands of Chinese children have been adopted since 1992, and the program is stable and efficient. The Chinese government has a highly organized adoption system, and you will find a China adoption to be a smooth process. Our China Adoption Team has placed over 1,000 Chinese babies in loving families!
Parent Eligibility
New 2007 CCAA Requirements The China Center of Adoption Affairs has now posted their new, official requirements for adopting families. Faithful Adoption accepts FREE applications from couples that have been married for at least two years. If there has been a divorce on either side, then the current marriage must be five years in length PRIOR to submitting their dossier. China is no longer receiving dossiers from single applicants. Each parent must be in the age range of 30 to 50. China requires that both parents be very healthy, with a BMI (body mass index) under 40, and have no history of drug abuse. The family is to have a yearly income of approximately $10,000 per family member (including the new child). There should not be more than four dependent children residing in the home when the family applies to adopt.
Available Children
Faithful Adoption's China Hope Program specializes in healthy, robust children. Most of the adoptable children in China are girls under 18 months of age, with the average age at the time of referral being 10 months of age. An older toddler may be requested, but the request may or may not be granted.
The Process
When the necessary dossier documents are completed, Faithful Adoption will Express Mail everything to our staff in China to be translated and then submitted to the CCAA in Beijing. In about 19 months you will be matched with a precious Chinese baby or toddler. (We anticipate this referral time to shorten due to the new parent requirements.) Once a child is referred to your family, several photos, a medical report, and an acceptance document will be sent to you. You are to sign the enclosed acceptance document and return it to us immediately. We forward it to China, and you can anticipate traveling about one month later to receive your child.
Travel
After your referral, families travel to China in small groups for an exciting 10 to 14 day trip. Only one parent is required to travel. You will fly to Beijing, and from there, travel to the city or province where the children are located. Our staff in China will meet you at the airport, and you will be fully escorted throughout the trip.
